At the heart of Rivers Pointe Estates is Toebben Builders, led by president John Toebben. John spent 27 years assembling the gorgeous rolling property and riverview lots to create Rivers Pointe Estates. John is honored and proud to build homes in this gem of a master-planned community and to share it with future residents. 

Not only is John the developer of Rivers Pointe, he and his family make The Reserve at Rivers Pointe their home. They are thrilled to welcome others to the Hebron, Kentucky, area. It’s a vibrant, growing community with a quiet country feel that still offers easy access to all modern conveniences, including stellar schools, churches, shopping, parks, and the airport. 

Toebben Builders is excited to begin home construction on Copper Ridge at Rivers Pointe. “We invite people to view our wide selection of custom floor plans to find the perfect fit for their families,” John says. The new luxury homes will be filled with today’s most desired amenities, including in-law suites, residential elevators, three-car garages and one-floor living designs. 

The new homes coming to Copper Ridge and those at The Reserve at Rivers Pointe Estates are just the latest in a long history of Toebben Builders’ homes.

Decades of Delighted Homeowners

As one of the four outstanding builders tapped to create new homes at Rivers Pointe Estates, Toebben Builders traces its history of building quality custom homes back to 1955. The company’s history is intertwined with the Toebben family history.

“At Toebben Builders we believe in trust, integrity, hard work, quality and lifelong relationships,” John says. The Toebben family has been building premium homes and developing some of the most desirable new home communities in the tri-state area for decades. 

Under the watchful eye of his father, Matth Toebben, John began in the business at an early age. Matth, who is now 89, still comes into the office. As one of 11 children, Matth was barely tall enough to see over the horse-drawn plow when he began working his family’s potato fields in Germany. That sense of family and dedication to work continues to this day at Toebben Builders. John’s brother Bill is president of the Toebben Companies, including land acquisition and commercial property management. John’s son, Jacob, is a third-generation builder and vice president of Toebben Construction Commercial Division.

As head of Toebben Builders, John personally works with new home buyers, walking them through design and construction, tracking progress and providing a personal touch. “My passion is a hands-on approach with every customer and every detail,” he says. “I believe in keeping the building process enjoyable while truly exemplifying the highest level of customer service.”

John inspects homes under construction weekly, if not daily, to ensure that every design and material element is correct. “We cherish our customers and enjoy bringing their dreams to reality,” he says.

A New Hometown

When John first laid eyes on the riverview property, he envisioned a legacy community deeply connected to nature. “We placed emphasis on walking trails and preserved nearly 25 percent of our woodlands,” he says. Residents will connect to each other, too. “We also focused on helping residents get to know their neighbors. Every community amenity has been carefully planned to have connectivity at its roots.”

To make Rivers Pointe an “age in place” community, the master plan includes seven different types and sizes of homes. Residents will be able to upsize or downsize during different life phases without having to move away from Rivers Pointe. 

John and his wife, Dana, who manages Rivers Pointe Stables adjacent to the community, are excited to welcome new residents, their families and visitors to this one-of-a-kind place.

Dedicated to Community 

While construction keeps the extended Toebben family busy, the Toebben Companies find time to embody local community involvement. Their success has allowed them to share by giving back and helping others. “We support local schools, churches, the Alzheimer’s Association, The Children’s Home and many others,” John says. “We encourage everyone in our organization to get involved and give back.” 

As a leader in residential construction, John holds a degree in home building from Trinity University in Texas and is a past president of the Northern Kentucky Home Builders Association. He served twice as president of the Northern Kentucky Land Development Council. “Most of all, we cherish the friendships we have made with our clients, some of whom have built three homes with our company during their lifetime,” John says.
