Homeowner Spotlight: NKY / Cincinnati Courtyard Townhomes

Ready to downsize and looking for a community that didn’t scream “cookie cutter”? Patty and Ron Reisz were thrilled to discover Rivers Pointe Estates. As they looked at other Cincinnati courtyard townhomes and townhouses in Northern Kentucky, they were underwhelmed. Then they toured the townhomes from Traditions Building and Development Group that were finished this past summer at Rivers Pointe.

The Perfect Location

The Reiszes knew they wanted to live close to downtown Cincinnati and had a particular vision of what they were looking for in a neighborhood and community. They fell in love with the amenities at Rivers Pointe and its location. “We loved the concept of multiple walking trails, ample amounts of green space, the large pool area and clubhouse,” the couple says. “The amenities are far more expansive than any other community we visited and it was clear the overall design of the community was carefully planned.  The pocket parks around the courtyard townhomes were also a big selling point for us. It’s a short drive to 275 making it very easy to get to anywhere in the greater Cincinnati area.”

The Perfect Size

The Reiszes had homes in both Tennessee and in Anderson Township, Ohio, and were looking to downsize their home in Anderson Township with a lower maintenance home. They had visited other townhome communities but had yet to find the right fit until they discovered Rivers Pointe. “We didn’t care for the ‘cookie cutter’ look of many of the other townhome communities so we liked the diversity of styles and overall visual appeal of the exteriors at Rivers Pointe,” they recall. “We ultimately chose our floor plan based on the square footage and room configuration that worked best for our empty nester lifestyle.”

Custom Is the Way to Go

A major attraction of all the builders at Rivers Pointe is the ability to customize any of the home styles. This was a deciding factor for the Reiszes as well. “We were really happy with the flexibility Traditions offered and were able to make several changes to the interior configuration. We essentially had unlimited flexibility in choosing our finishes. The layouts are well-designed for how we want to use our space, there is ample storage and the room sizes are generous.” Patty and Ron are excited for outdoor living, too. “Our townhome has a huge second floor porch and we really liked that option for more privacy.”

Ultimately, the ability to customize their home contributed to the couple loving their new courtyard townhome. “We are thrilled with the final product. The kitchen is large with plenty of storage, the master bath is huge and we love our second-floor porch. In the warmer months we spent a lot of time outside on the porch grilling out, entertaining friends and watching college football. The open layout of the first floor makes it easy to entertain during the winter months, too. Overall, the house feels very comfortable and suits our lifestyle.”

Here’s to the Future and the Perfect Neighborhood

The Reiszes were able to find the right home and neighborhood for them and look forward to spending the foreseeable future in their new home. “We are excited for the community pool construction to start and look forward to spending a lot of time there and getting to know our new neighbors,” the couple says. “We take advantage of the existing  walking trails and will use all of the trails as they get built out.  I’m also hoping to start a book club to get to know neighbors. We really look forward to seeing the entire community get built out and believe it will be highly desirable as well as a comfortable place to live.”
