Your Own Backyard
Rather stay closer to home? Your best bet for Northern Kentucky outdoor dining might be right in the backyard of your new Rivers Pointe Estates home. As you create your al fresco dining area, keep these factors in mind:
- Size: How many people will you regularly serve meals to? Space for a table and six chairs might be plenty, or maybe you need extra space for extended gatherings of family and friends. If so, creating space for two dining sets might be a good option.
- Food preparation preferences: Do you prefer making meals to serve in an outdoor kitchen or in your kitchen inside? If you like to prep and cook outside, consider adding an outdoor kitchen with built-in refrigeration, sink and grill. Add cabinets for storage of kitchen equipment and utensils, too. If you prefer to prep food indoors, would you still like a way to heat food up outside or keep food or drinks cold?
- The need for shade: Northern Kentucky outdoor dining can be uncomfortable when summer temperatures soar. Consider adding a pergola to your outdoor space or intentionally planting trees so that their shade can add relief. (Or cool off in the Rivers Pointe community pool, then eat later!)
- Exterior heat and lighting: On the flip side, you might need to provide heating for guests outside when nights get chilly. Would you like to add a firepit or a patio heater to your outdoor dining area? Keep the party going after sunset: Outdoor lamps, string lights and path lights all add charm to an outdoor space.
- Extra seating: Consider ways you can add additional seating in case you entertain a crowd. Could a low landscape wall serve as casual seating? What about benches that can be moved around your outdoor living areas as needed?
